Large companies often require small specialist service providers to help them deal with niche issues and particular problems quickly and efficiently. FEC has done this for a number of large companies including British Sugar, Wight Salads and the Co-op. Areas like specialist energy engineering, procurement planning and cross company energy efficiency strategy have been covered.

Case history – Co-op farm surveys

FEC was asked to provide energy surveys for a collection of farm sites for Farmcare, the farm management arm of the Co-op. This was carried out with support from the Carbon Trust. Sites in East Anglia, Yorkshire and the Scottish Borders were surveyed and suggestions on technical improvements made for each site. Suggestions were also put forward on how the company should deal with energy efficiency planning issues as a whole.
