Having specialist, industry wide knowledge of the use of energy in agricultural, horticultural and general business areas FEC Services has been consulted widely by Government departments such as Defra and the Carbon Trust. Work has included the production of energy efficiency publications, advice on energy saving possibilities for various industry sectors and latterly, the administration of Climate Change Agreements for four sector associations. FEC has become a leader in the area of the operation of energy accounting for SME businesses.

Case study

The agricultural and horticultural industries combined have the largest number of small companies taking part in Climate Change Agreements. FEC Services has developed efficient and practical ways of data gathering and compliance communication for these sectors. The tools used are now well established and can be transferred to any small business sector for energy management and carbon accounting.
