Defra has launched a £20m ‘Farm and Forestry Improvement’ fund as part of its revisions to the Rural Development Programme for England.
Open for grant applications of between £2,500 and £25,000, the scheme will provide up to 40 % funding for energy-saving projects. The first round of the scheme is open from 16th November 2011 until 17th January 2012.
The selection process is competitive and applications will be appraised against one another. To be successful, applications must demonstrate that they are meeting the objectives of the scheme and, for energy-saving projects, Defra are strongly recommending that an energy audit is completed to determine that the greatest benefits are being achieved with the proposed measures. “Farm Energy can help you identify the best way to carry out your energy audit and justify your proposed project," comments Commercial Director Chris Plackett.
To discuss your project, email info@farmenergy.com or phone 024 7669 6512 to talk to one of our energy consultants.
