December 2011 saw a record amount of renewable wind energy generated, as the UK experienced wind levels that were, on average, 16% higher than the previous year’s.
An average of 5.3% of the electricity used in the UK in December 2011 came from renewable wind energy, with a record-breaking peak of 12.2% on 28th December, according to a new report released by the Met Office.
