Carbon Trust has used FEC Services expertise in the agricultural and horticultural sectors as well as broader energy expertise for commercial/industrial customers.
Services provided have included energy efficiency audits – we have 4 engineers who are accredited to deliver Carbon Trust auditing products including carbon footprint assessments.
We have also authored several technical publications for the Carbon Trust including, Energy Benchmarks and Saving Measures for Protected Greenhouse Horticulture in the UK and Energy Use in Pig Farming. |

Case study -
Carbon Trust

At a strategic level Carbon Trust commissioned a study
entitled, Agricultural Energy Benchmarking Study for
Northern Ireland. This was used to help them formulate
longer term energy efficiency work in the province.
The work has subsequently helped to develop a programme
of farm energy auditing and benchmarking studies which
will be carried over the next 3 years and which will cover
a wide range of agricultural market sub-sectors.
